Last week was China’s National Day. We had a week of holiday, so I went home to visit my mother. Because my mother ran a small restaurant, I went to the restaurant to help my mother during the holidays.
After my mother prepares the dinner for the guests, I will serve them.
At that day, a woman came to my mother’s restaurant. There was a small stroller next to her, and she was there spending time on her phone after ordering a meal. Dinner’s ready, my mom said. and then I serve the dinner to the women.
Cause there’s a stroller, I step forward serve the meal and being polite: “What a cute baby, how cute! Is it a boy or girl?” I asked. -(coz it looks like a boy and I am not sure but for being polite)
The woman answered: “ Why would you care so much about my baby’s gender? This is 2020, a modern and open society now, it’s not tranditional China in old time. Are you here to convince me to abandan my child if it’s a girl? huh?“
what the hell?
I actually don’t care if it’s gender fluid, pre-op, or bisexual. Its sexuality or The child’s sexual orientation and whether he will change sex in the future have nothing to do with me, and I fully respect his choice and approve it. I was just making a polite conversation.
Aw.. I do not think I was agreesive or overly hospitable that day. I just thought she (the mother) was over reacted.
but I was still disturbed that day.
